We use an informal presentation style that allows you to interact and personalize the conversation and presentation.

These seminars are designed to cover all the relevant topics and questions you may have in regards to getting the most out of your training and especially your racing efforts.The only prerequisite to join is that you are comfortable running a distance of ~15 km on undulating terrain. Our afternoon on trail session will involve a group run of about two hours in total length, where we’ll focus on the mechanics of proper uphill and downhill running techniques. You do not have to be competitive, fast or elite. This is very much designed with the everyday trail runner in mind.

These events are open to all participants and will focus on general training for all ages and experience levels.

Schedule (example):

9:30am – 1:00pm: Classroom Component

Note: Squamish schedule is 1 hr earlier, starting at 8:30am and wrapping at 4:00pm.

Please arrive by 9:20 so we can start on time! We’ll cover developing a training plan, prioritization and periodization, common training pitfalls, altitude training, fueling/hydration, race day prep, pacing, balancing non-training stress such as managing work, life, and running, along with any and all other topics you may want to touch on. Our style is combination lecture and Q&A. Wanna talk about chafing? Let’s do it! The floor is yours 🙂 We’ll also be giving away free entries into upcoming CMTR races.

1:00pm – 2:00pm: Lunch Social Time
Didn’t get your training question answered? The group will reconvene at a nearby restaurant for a bite to eat and an informal Q&A with Gary and Eric (*not included with seminar registration* location TBA).

2:15pm – 4:45pm: Trail Component
Warmup, uphill/downhill running technique basics and a group trail run. For our Chilliwack event, we’ll be running from the door of the Land Cafe to this trailhead on Vedder Mountain Trails. Squamish clinic will run from Capra to the Coho Park Trails.

Cost: $125 + tax
Note: Registration includes a Ridgeline Athletics Ultra Training Plan of your choice. Seminar does not include drinks or lunch. Each seminar does something slightly different so we have found it’s smoother just to have everyone plan to purchase their own favourites on site. In Chilliwack, we are located within a cafe, with Sidekick Brewing as a second food option next door!
